Blumen is building software to streamline permitting, compliance, and regulatory hurdles for project developers and EPC companies powering renewables and infrastructure development int he US.
Initial traction for our permitting platform is very high, and we are pursuing many downstream opportunities as we perfect the platform. We’re looking for motivated players to continue to build our world-class platform and help developers breeze through the regulatory process, soup to nuts.
We're on the hunt for engineers who are deeply passionate about tackling difficult problems with the number one goal of building an amazing product. No problem is too difficult if it will result in the best user experience.
Our ideal candidate has strong CS fundamentals, but leaves their ego at the door. You tinker, build, and push the limits of what’s possible. You may have a side project or two that you wrote just because you wanted to.
Our engineers typically own a subset of the application, but domains are subject to change based on company needs. Below are some examples:
Use cutting edge ML and LLM techniques to power our Permitting and Regulatory product
Design and develop new modules for our app using spatial compute and modeling technologies
Build and support front-end features, creating reusable components where possible
Build and support an ETL platform for large geospatial datasets as well as regulatory and project risk data
Bachelors or greater
6+ years writing software, building features and products end-to-end
Interest in LLMs and RAG, experience a plus but not required
Interest in geospatial data, experience a plus but not required
React / NextJS

Put yourself in the customer’s shoes. We care deeply about serving our customers above all else.
No job is too small. Details matter, even if nobody will ever see them.
Every problem is an opportunity. Any solution that is clever, difficult to reproduce, or takes serious guts is an opportunity to widen our moat.
Own the problem. Not your solution. Best idea wins.
It doesn’t get easier. We just get faster. There is no finish line. Every day is a step toward compounding success. This is a marathon toward excellence.
