LegalThe Associate General Counsel (AGC), Trust & Estate Administration, manages the legal team that delivers legal and regulatory advice on trust and estate administration products, initiatives, strategies, policies and developments for and on behalf of BMO Financial Group's U.S. Wealth Management business, which consists of several interrelated companies that offer banking, investment, and fiduciary services to wealthy individuals and families. Provides legal advice based on knowledge of legal principles, practices and procedures, and knowledge of the financial services industry and its environment. Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives. Advises boards, committees, and senior executives. Works to achieve organizational goals while minimizing legal risk. Works to deliver legal advice (60%), provide legal oversight (20%) and issues management (20%).

Qualifications:
Typically 10+ years of legal practice or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree in law (LLB or JD) and license to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.

Private practice or in-house experience delivering legal advice to business/group, or experience at regulatory body relating to the regulation of business/group activities.

Salary:
$178,500.00 - $297,400.00Pay Type:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
