Product Manager - Growth

About this role

Boardable is seeking a talented Product Manager to join our growing Product team. This is a crucial role for our business, as we continue to invest in our Product, our Product-led Growth, and enable our prospects and customers to engage with us in an effective and efficient manner.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Product Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the ways that our Product drives Revenue Growth, both in conjunction with, and independent of a Sales Team. 

They will work closely with our Product Marketing and Engineering teams, as well as other teams throughout the organization to uncover opportunities to reduce friction within the buying process, prospect and customer needs throughout their lifecycle, and ways to encourage greater product utilization and customer satisfaction.

The Product Manager will also have autonomy to research, ideate and develop concepts, experiments and changes that drive increased revenue efficiency for the business via the Product.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Develop and Manage Growth Roadmap: Create and maintain a roadmap that aligns with business growth objectives and prospect/customer needs.
  • Prioritize Improvements: Evaluate and prioritize improvements based on their potential impact on user engagement and conversion rates.
  • Oversee User Activation Processes: Design and implement effective onboarding processes to ensure users quickly understand and derive value from the product.
  • Collect and Analyze Customer Feedback: Use user feedback gathered through surveys, interviews, and usage data to continuously improve the product’s ability to drive Growth.

Analytics

  • Analyze User Data and Metrics: Regularly review and interpret data on user behavior, free trial usage, and conversion rates to identify growth opportunities.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Set and track KPIs such as conversion rates, churn rates, and lifetime value (LTV) to measure the success of growth initiatives.
  • Conduct A/B and Multivariate Testing: Design and execute tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different product features, marketing strategies, and user experiences.
Technical Responsibilities
  • Utilize SaaS Tools and Platforms: Leverage CRM systems, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel), and marketing automation software to drive growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with engineers to ensure that product features are implemented according to specifications and timelines.
  • Basic Coding for Rapid Prototyping: Use basic coding skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to create prototypes and test ideas quickly.

 Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitate Cross Functional Collaboration: Coordinate efforts between engineering, marketing, sales, and customer teams to align on growth objectives and initiatives.
  • Communicate Growth Strategies and Results: Present growth strategies, plans, and outcomes to stakeholders and executive teams to secure buy-in and support.
  • Manage Stakeholder Expectations: Set clear expectations with stakeholders regarding timelines, deliverables, and potential outcomes of growth initiatives.

Experimentation and Optimization

  • Design and Execute Growth Experiments: Develop and run growth experiments to identify scalable ways to increase user activation, engagement, and retention.
  • Optimize Conversion Rates: Implement strategies and techniques for optimizing the conversion rate of free trial users to paid subscribers.

Key Performance Markers

  • Free Trial to Paid Conversion Rate: Percentage of users who convert from free trial to paid subscription.Lead Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads that convert into paying customers.User Activation Rate: Percentage of users who reach key activation milestones within the product.
  • User Engagement Rate: Frequency and depth of user interaction with the product features.
  • Referral Rate: Percentage of new users acquired through referrals from existing users.
  • A/B Test Success Rate: Percentage of A/B tests that result in statistically significant improvements.
  • User Satisfaction Score (USS): Overall satisfaction rating provided by users regarding the trial experience.
  • Time to Market for Growth Initiatives: Average time taken to implement and launch growth experiments or new features.
  • Efficiency of Growth Experiments: Ratio of successful experiments to total experiments conducted.

Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, or similar role, with a strong background in analytics and experimentation
  • Experience with SaaS business metrics and operations.
  • Experience and proficiency in using Product Analytics tools like Heap and Pendo to determine impact of changes to Product
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working directly with Marketing and Engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills that result in strong relationships 
  • Experience in a startup or small company environment with a demonstrated ownership mentality, resourcefulness, and proactive approach to work 
  • Confidence and ability to communicate with customer representatives from all levels of the organization
  • Superior organizational and project management skills; close attention to detail
  • Experience serving on a nonprofit board a plus
