Find your future with us.The Boeing Enterprise Data & Analytics team is seeking an Applied Data Scientist (Mid-Level or Senior) in Seattle, WA.The role is responsible for developing key manufacturing and quality data analytics products and capabilities to support the enhancement of manufacturing and quality across the enterprise. The selected candidate will engage directly with the business users and stakeholders across Boeing and will be accountable for driving data, digital thread and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in manufacturing and quality domains and ensuring consistent product design and delivery across the various manufacturing environments. This role will work closely with a global team to develop data and AI products from conception to launch, driving adoption of new data driven products in manufacturing and quality.Position Responsibilities:• Understand current state of manufacturing and quality at Boeing, identify opportunities for solving complex problems through data, digital thread, and AI• Develop data, digital thread and AI product and capabilities roadmaps with a clear tie to manufacturing and quality end results in a real production environment• Define, build, manage, deploy, and sustain products for data, analytics and AI capabilities in the manufacturing and quality domains across Boeing businesses• Establish maturity measurement across the product development life cycle for clarity in progress and business value delivered• Possess end to end knowledge base across the product life cycle to tell an impactful story to stakeholders at both working and leadership levels• Develop future state vision for data lake strategy to integrate manufacturing and quality data from across Boeing• Mentor peers in the relevant areas of expertise; provide trainings when neededThis position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):• 3+ years of working experience with scripting programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar• 3+ years of working experience developing AI algorithms to aid and assist in optimization and predictive analysisPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):• 5+ or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience• Master’s or Ph.D. in the relevant fields of study• 5+ years of experience building and deploying data, digital thread and analytics capabilities into a real production environment with realized, measurable business impact• Experience driving data and AI into manufacturing and quality in the aerospace industry• Experience with digital product development and its impact on manufacturing and quality• Experience with one or more advanced computing technologies: computer vision, machine learning, statistical process control, neural network, and others• Experience with machine learning libraries, such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorc• Experience with Machine Learning development and deployment pipeline, i.e. from data to model• Experience with agile implementation, CI/CD• Experience with the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test, Sustainment), test driven development (TDD)Typical Education & Experience:Mid-Level (Level 3):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).Senior (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
