Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Tool and Fixture Specialist to join the Operations Team in Heath, OH.This position will be responsible for fabricating, modifying and repairing of machinery, parts, tools & assemblies using both manual shop and CNC type equipment (mills, lathes, etc.).Position Responsibilities:• Works with minimum supervision to operate, and adjust all types of manual or CNC machinery by following manufacturing best practices, blueprints, schematics, process specifications, engineering sketches, with oral instructions.• Performs metal fabrication and repair – Primarily sheet metal (punching, bending, shearing and welding).• Works in conjunction with engineering, operations and quality to improve nonconforming parts, assemblies, manufacturing processes and repairs• Adheres to all safety and security requirements within the facility.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):• Experience operating CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine tools• Experience in machine shop processes, geometric dimensioning & tolerances, and machining capabilities of different types of materials• Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications• Basic computer experience and competency• Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power toolsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):• Experience in performing all aspects of machining to include setup and operation 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machines, along with all types of conventional machine shop equipment to make precision parts• Understanding of machine tool capabilities and limitations• Experience working with MasterCam and Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software• Experience welding (TIG), forming and fabrication of various materials, including: steel, stainless and aluminum• Experience working with close tolerances .0001”• Experience designing and building jigs & fixtures to locate and secure parts during the various fabrication and machining processes.Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
