Find your future with us.The Boeing National Team is seeking a motivated, talented, Experienced Software Engineer to support the development, integration, verification, and test of the Command and Control, Battle Management Communications (C2BMC) system in Colorado Springs, CO. C2BMC is the system integration piece of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and defends the United States homeland and allies all over the world!This Software Engineer will be on the C2BMC Enterprise Services Team supporting the development of future missile defense capabilities. Software engineering and/or software development with Java/JEE experience would be ideal. The candidate will have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management. The successful candidate should have good verbal and written communication skills, work independently, and possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment. Qualified software engineers should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.The C2BMC National Team provides technical solutions to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Contract. C2BMC is the integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System and links various sensors and weapon systems. For more information, click here.Position Responsibilities:• Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java.• Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large code baseline.• Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code.• Maintains, debugs, and configures related software products. Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.• Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the overall efficiency of the system.• Design, code, test, and implement tools for automation.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.This position requires candidate acceptance by the industry partner Resource Control Board (RCB).This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.• 3+ years' experience with software development of C/C++, java, and/or Linux Operating Systems.• Security+ or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140) are required within 60 days of starting.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Qualifications):• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend, and develop a solution.• Experience with Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify/SonarQube mitigation.• Use of common software development and management tools such as GitLab, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, maven or Gradle, and Eclipse• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams.• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking is highly desirable.• Experience working as part of an Agile team.• Experience developing enterprise applications.• Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits• Knowledge of server-side/database development and computer system administration• Command and control system application development• Automated test and pipeline development experience desired• Test-driven development is desired.• Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.• Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts.Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
