Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Structure Cabling Designer to join the Network Infrastructure team in either Seattle, WA; Everett, WA; Kent, WA; or Renton, WA.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and managing complex structured cabling systems that support voice, data, video, and other communication networks. This role requires a deep understanding of current industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our network infrastructure.Position Responsibilities:• Design and develop detailed structured cabling systems, including horizontal and backbone distribution systems, telecommunications rooms, and data centers• Conduct site surveys to assess and document existing infrastructure and to identify requirements for new installations or upgrades• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bill of materials• Coordinate with architects, facilities, and contractors to integrate structured cabling systems into construction projects• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, codes, and regulations, including Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)/Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA), Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), and local building codes• Provide technical oversight and guidance during the installation process to ensure adherence to design specifications• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cabling issues, including signal quality, connectivity, and bandwidth problems• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in structured cabling and related technologies• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior designers and techniciansThis position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):• 5+ years of experience with structured cabling design with a focus on large-scale commercial or industrial projects• 3+ years of experience with cabling infrastructure standards• 3+ years of experience with fiber optic and copper cabling systems, pathways, and spaces• 3+ years of experience with project management• 3+ years of experience working with cross functional teamsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):• Bachelor’s degree or higher• 10+ years of experience in large-scale commercial or industrial projects for cabling design• 3+ years of experience with managing multiple projects concurrently• 3+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Experience with CAD software and other design tools• Experience with network protocols and equipment configurations• Network certifications such as RCDD from BICSI, PMP, or LEED APTypical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
