Job Summary:
Technical Field Advisor (TFA) Boiler will be executing highly technical services on various fossil fired steam generator equipment and systems (Boilers / HRSGs). The successful execution of these global services will require that the Engineer adhere to internal processes while being open to challenges that may arise. Engineers are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services. The TFA will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on the operation, maintenance, efficiency, and reliability of fossil fired steam generator equipment and systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Field service assignments involve adapting to varying conditions at customer facilities while operating within estimated resources and ensuring quality.

Involves considerable travel and/or temporarily residing at customer sites. Expected to be on call and available. Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.

Attention to detail is critical as errors typically result in significant loss of time and rework, inefficient use of resources, and adversely affect customer relations.

Self-directed, independently develop work and opportunities to provide advice and guidance on the commissioning, operation, maintenance, efficiency, and reliability of fossil fired steam generator equipment and systems.

Time management skills are necessary to prioritize multiple tasks and balance administrative requirements with customer support.

Must have strong technical writing skills with the ability to describe complex issues concisely, developing recommendations for customers based on findings and guidance from company resources.

Resilience to work in a demanding role with extensive travel and an uncertain schedule.

Self-Starter, motivated and willing to take on challenging assignments in industrial environments possibly in remote areas or international locations.

Act as the Company's representative in resolving and reporting on complex technical and logistics problems while maintaining good customer relations and protecting the interest of FieldCore.

Organize and lead a team of Service Engineers on high level projects (commissioning, major capital projects) and act as the primary customer contact for various work assignments involving critical activities to both FieldCore and the customer.

Analyze, plan, and conduct evaluations of a variety of technical tasks requiring the application of highly complex and diverse engineering activities of power plant equipment.

Established as a specialist in multiple pieces of equipment, able to mentor others and train them in these areas of expertise.

Demonstrate an advanced technical competency in inspection and testing of various equipment and systems (Boilers, HRSGs, Pipework, Pressure parts, Pulverizers, Precipitators, etc.), performing test methods, and writing detailed reports. Advanced tasks include troubleshooting equipment, evaluating suitability of equipment application, assessing remaining life of equipment, analyzing failed equipment, optimizing plant performance, and training plant personnel.

Technical familiarity with other Plant equipment including turbines, generators, and environmental equipment.

Possesses expertise and experience that establishes premium value to customers and utilizes this capability to secure work, resulting in consistently achieving FieldCore’s goals and objectives.

Ensures Technical Services team meets customers’ expectations and maintains positive reputation as a reliable industry resource.

Works with customer account teams to assist in developing customer management strategies, meeting financial objectives. Contribute to commercial success and assist in Alstom business growth.

Organize and deliver external customer training on OEM equipment.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or A.S. in Power Plant Technology or related field experience of 8+ years.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

Successful completion of required training programs is a minimum requirement.

Demonstrated progressive, responsible experience with various types of steam generator equipment and systems and site accountabilities is required.
Desired Characteristics:

Expert level. Able to act as a senior company rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects

Compensation and Benefits:
The annual salary range for this position is $63,200 to 108,800. This is an exempt from overtime position. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
