Quality Roofing Systems, part of the Bone Dry Family, is seeking an experienced Commercial (Low Slope) Roofing Superintendent to oversee and manage our commercial roofing projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and installation experience of commercial roofing systems, particularly low slope applications, and will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all on-site roofing activities, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and according to the project plan.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and adjust as needed to ensure timelines and budgets are maintained.
- Installation Oversight:
- Provide hands-on expertise and guidance in the installation of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, built-up roofing (BUR), and modified bitumen as needed.
- Ensure that all installations meet manufacturer specifications and comply with building codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor roofing crews to maintain high performance and quality standards.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Address any issues or concerns from the crew or clients promptly and effectively.
- Material Management:
- Verify the delivery and storage of materials, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available when needed.
- Verify the quality and quantity of materials delivered to the job site.
- Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site supervisors, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Provide regular updates to clients and management on project status, potential delays, and any changes to the project scope.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, including work completed, personnel on-site, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Submit daily reports to the project manager and participate in regular project meetings
Qualifications:- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial roofing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Extensive knowledge of low slope roofing systems is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, BUR, and modified bitumen. Familiarity with roofing safety regulations and building codes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project demands.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Manufacturer certifications in various roofing systems are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights. Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
- Ability to operate a truck and trailer and or flatbed truck.
