The Bookkeeper position is responsible for the delivery of variety of bookkeeping responsibilities and tasks for EisnerAmper and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- No certification required.
- 1-2+ years of experience in a full charge bookkeeping environment is required.
- Intermediate level of knowledge with respect to accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks Desktop/QuickBooks On-line, MAS90, etc.
- Must be familiar with specific general ledger and financial statement issues such as prepaid insurance/insurance expense, payroll tax and salary allocations and depreciation schedules.
- Must understand Payroll Calculations, Deductions and Reporting Requirements
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work in a highly organized manner within a fast-paced, innovative, and continuously changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and proactive nature.
- Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
- Computer proficiency with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products (specifically Excel, and Word).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares tax returns for clients including Sales tax returns (state & city/parish) and Payroll tax returns, quarterly and annually (federal & state).
- Prepares and distributes W-2’s and 1099’s for clients.
- Reconciles client bank accounts.
- Reconciles client balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation.
- Responds to client questions regarding general bookkeeping issues, payroll withholdings, tax deposits and coding disbursements (chart of accounts).
- Upon client request, serves in the capacity of the client’s bookkeeper (onsite) when an absence occurs.
- Prepares various other tax reports such as property taxes, occupational licenses and, workers’ compensation reports.
- Proactively communicates any issues/concerns relating to work product.
- Develops proficiency for Firm software applications and procedures.
- Complies with the professional and Firm requirements (e.g., employee handbook requirements, time entry procedures, audit quality control document requirements, etc.) including complying with confidentiality requirements (e.g., client information, proposal information, personnel information, job-related information, etc.).
Other Duties:
- Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, and work processes. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- May assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service and demonstrating team work skills. Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
- Perform other services as assigned.
Other Considerations:
- May periodically travel and work from different company locations.
- May be required to work overtime, and/or on weekends as needed.
- Must arrive at EisnerAmper offices or client locations in a timely manner and be ready to perform job responsibilities.
