Job Description

► Be responsible for the robust design of power components from 100W up to 200kW for automotive applications, mostly for power modules for (H)EV with the focus on thermo-mechanical behaviour 

► Be the key-player in shaping the mechanical simulation competency field within the organization 

► Work in close cooperation with the thermal simulation, technology and reliability engineers to define and perform the necessary simulations, using the ANSYS platform 

► Evaluate simulation results & derive relevant conclusions out of them, present and discuss the results within the international project team 

► Coordinate a team of simulation engineers to solve various problems from process simulations to validation support and reliability assessment 

► Support the continuous improvement of the simulation/ modelling infrastructure to work towards virtual product design & digital engineering by:  

              o          defining fast & robust processes 

              o          automatizing repetitive workflows 

              o          improving accuracy based on validation measurements 

► Carrier perspective towards leadership/ specialist 

Qualifications

► University degree in Mechanical engineering, Physics or similar, PhD is beneficial 

► Proven background and knowledge in at least 3 of the following topics: thermal and mechanical or thermo-mechanical simulations, material science, FEA theory, model based engineering, fatigue and fracture mechanics 

► At least 5 years experience with FEM simulation tools, ideally ANSYS Workbench and Spaceclaim 

► Experience with scripting (APDL, Python) 

► Fluent English communication and presentation skills, German is beneficial 

► Coordination/ leadership experience is beneficial 

► Pro-active behavior, strong desire for continuous improvement of self & the team
