Do you want to play an instrumental role in BCG’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda? We are looking for a DEI Senior Manager who will lead projects that progress our overall DEI strategy. You will work closely with the North America (NAMR) DEI leadership, Diversity Affinity Network MDP Leads, and fellow DEI colleagues to grow our culture of inclusion and support our diverse workforce to thrive. We recognize the significant value that DEI can unlock—for individuals, organizations, and societies—and the need to continue our progress.In this critical position, you will play a primary role in shaping the strategy and managing projects for one or more Diversity Affinity Networks (ERGs), most likely our LGBTQ+, disability, and/or women’s Networks. You will focus on identifying needs and providing solutions to important DEI challenges among the Networks you support, and serving as a thought partner to senior BCG leadership. You will work closely with Affinity Network and DEI leaders to shape the strategy for the network(s) you lead, craft communications (e.g., PowerPoint decks, emails), and manage projects that drive the retention, advancement, and engagement of Network members. In this role your responsibilities will vary day-to-day, requiring a skill set that can flex between strategic thinking and project management. You will independently drive the end-to-end design and implementation of new initiatives and work cross-functionally and collaboratively with team members to ensure high quality delivery of impactful events and programs. In addition, you will contribute to broader, cross-Network DEI efforts, driving ongoing innovation, codifying best practices to share across networks, and representing the interests and perspectives of your Networks to other functions and stakeholdersThe right candidate will be a sharp problem-solver with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, experience crafting and implementing data-driven strategy, and an ability to manage across priorities for senior stakeholders. They will have a strong sense of ownership and an ability to apply knowledge of best practices across race/ethnicity, gender/gender identity, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, religion/spirituality, and other dimensions of identity to increase inclusion at BCG.• Shaping, communicating, and implementing strategy. You will design the strategy and strategic plan for Diversity Affinity Network(s), and you are able to translate strategy into execution planning, project management, and clear and compelling communications. Verbal and written communications: You’re a sharp communicator across multiple mediums and comfortable effectively tailoring your communications across all levels of our organization.• Effectively collaborating across a complex set of stakeholders. Engaging and influencing individuals of various tenures across the firm is a cornerstone of this role; you are skilled at the diplomacy and compromise needed to manage the interests of different Networks, leaders, and stakeholders. You should be comfortable building trust and credibility with individuals at all levels and able to persuade others to consider new ideas or approaches, while maintaining positive relationships.• Problem solving and forward thinking. We focus on root cause solutions to advance DEI at BCG. You will need to understand intersectional aspects of complex situations and be able to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems. This will require acting on current needs while maintaining a vision for the future goal and creating a roadmap to achieve it.• Building strong relationships and communicating with cultural adaptability. You develop and nurture meaningful relationships through consistent, empathetic, and culturally adept communications You model inclusive leadership and allyship in action and communication.• Independently managing complex and varied projects. This role involves end-to-end planning, driving, and implementation of a diverse array of projects and initiatives. Project management expertise, comfort translating ambiguous strategies into tactical actions, and collaborating with operations teammates will be critical.• Strong analytical skills. You can leverage experience with data analysis and analytical problem-solving to inform Network strategies and make data-based decisions. You will use data to identify needs and opportunities, track progress, and identify when course correction is required. You are able to balance qualitative analysis and big picture impact alongside quantitative data.• Understanding the big picture, even when the work gets granular. Strong organizational skills are key, with an ability to handle, prioritize, and carry out multiple tasks independently. This role requires you to “roll up your sleeves” and play an active role to make change happen. • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in DEI, strategy consulting, program management, learning and development or other people-related functions• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders, with skills in effective collaboration, persuasion, and influence• A demonstrated ability to manage large projects and complex groups of stakeholders. Your skillset can flex between tactical process work and broader strategic thinking within your area(s) of focus• Strong sense of ownership and experience proactively taking initiative, collaboratively driving strategy, using good judgment to prioritize requests, and working with minimal direction• Demonstrated impact within DEI at the regional/global level strongly preferred• Experience with DEI best practices and demonstrated cultural/identity adeptness• Experience in change management and project management – with focus in culture change and people processes highly preferred• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar tools• Excellent judgment and professionalism, particularly when dealing with complex topics and sensitive personal and firm DEI data
