The Research Assistant (entry level) is responsible for the coordination of recruitment mailings and other efforts, enrollment, scheduling and coordination of assessment questionnaires over the telephone or in-person, data collection and management, and data reports. Duties may include phone calls, drafting letters, administering questionnaires, gatherings case samples/abstracts in medical records, maintaining patient databases, performing other administrative tasks, including literature searches and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. Maintains positive relationships with participants.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:• Schedules appointments of participants; conducts reminder phone calls and/or mailouts. Schedules and performs interviews with participants in person (may be in their homes) or over the phone.• Completes and reviews the data collection forms for each participant for completion and quality.• Completes medical record abstraction as needed. Communicates with the Principal Investigator and other project staff to ensure study needs are met in a timely fashion.• Adheres to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all study certifications, including Human Subjects Certification Participates in special projects as needed.(The above statements in this job description are intended to depict the general nature and level of work assigned to the employee(s) in this job.
