Research Assistant, Health Equity Accelerator (per diem)

The Research Assistant (entry level) is responsible for the coordination of recruitment mailings and other efforts, enrollment, scheduling and coordination of assessment questionnaires over the telephone or in-person, data collection and management, and data reports. Duties may include phone calls, drafting letters, administering questionnaires, gatherings case samples/abstracts in medical records, maintaining patient databases, performing other administrative tasks, including literature searches and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. Maintains positive relationships with participants.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:• Schedules appointments of participants; conducts reminder phone calls and/or mailouts. Schedules and performs interviews with participants in person (may be in their homes) or over the phone.• Completes and reviews the data collection forms for each participant for completion and quality.• Completes medical record abstraction as needed. Communicates with the Principal Investigator and other project staff to ensure study needs are met in a timely fashion.• Adheres to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all study certifications, including Human Subjects Certification Participates in special projects as needed.(The above statements in this job description are intended to depict the general nature and level of work assigned to the employee(s) in this job. The above is not intended to represent an exhaustive list of accountable duties and responsibilities required).JOB REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:• Ability to travel to participants’ homes as neededEXPERIENCE:• 1-2 years previous work experience preferred.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with participants and to interact effectively with a variety of Medical Center staff and outside contacts.• Bilingual Haitian Creole-English requiredABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:The Health Equity Accelerator is an ambitious and aggressive approach to eliminating the race-based health equity gap that exists throughout the healthcare industry in the U.S. Our health equity report will provide you with an in-depth look at our approach, introduce you to the people who are propelling The Accelerator forward, and provide insight into the work ahead of us.
