About the Team
Our Operations team is growing and we are looking for Bot Operators to join us. In this role, you will be monitoring and accelerating Nuro's autonomous system performance by mimicking real world driving scenarios and interactions in the field, using a variety of tools. Professionalism, care, and personal accountability are significant attributes as you will be expected to adhere to the culture of safety and standards of conduct exemplified by the team. You will be trained on Nuro's proprietary systems and expected to pass several training checkpoints.
About the Role
- You will provide onsite support for our Nuro vehicles at our Las Vegas office up to 8 hours a day 5-6 days a week.
- You will operate and program robotic platforms for use in structured testing.
- You will assist in the assembly of workspaces and carry out duties relating to site improvements (e.g. mapping, validating, and deploying).
- You will collaborate closely with our talented software & hardware engineers, operations specialists, and Guardian Operations team to monitor Nuro's autonomous systems on different vehicle platforms, and advance our technologies and internal workflows, ultimately, helping to craft our product roadmap.
- You will safely and effectively maneuver Nuro bots in a closed course environment with different transportation mediums (i.e. car, bike, and self).
- You will assist in the collection of data, and troubleshooting issues that may arise in the field.
- You will occasionally interact with members of the public to educate them on autonomous vehicle technologies and behaviors.
About You
- You possess a valid US driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience or have a similar background operating autonomous vehicles.
- You have a clean driving record and are able to pass a criminal background check.
- You are reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented.
- You are self-driven and have experience working in a start-up or dynamic environments, or have the DNA to thrive in one.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are an outstanding collaborator/teammate.
- Demonstrate good judgment in fast paced, high stress situations.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- You are able to work independently or in small groups and for periods without direct supervision.
- You are willing to travel as needed (up to 35% - domestic travel).
- You can occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, spend extended periods standing, and able to work in temperatures above 100F.
- You have proficient computer skills i.e. Google Workspace, MS Suite, Windows/iOS/Linux based operating systems.
- You have the ability to remain flexible with the changing needs of the business and are willing to work different shifts including early mornings and nights.

- Past Autonomous Vehicle experience.
- Defensive Driver Certification.
- Familiar with Linux based systems.
