Job Description: Graphic Designer
Reports To: Head of Marketing
Compensation: Salary begins at $62,000 - DOE, plus benefits and bonus potential
Location: Hybrid must live in one of BP’s Markets. (Seattle, Austin, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Arizona,
Brooklyn, DC, Boston)
GRAPHIC DESIGNER
We’re looking for an experienced and versatile graphic designer to join our small but growing team — someone who loves diving into a project and finding design solutions for marketing and branding initiatives. This someone should be excited about taking on challenging work that might be new to them, and have the ability to join a fast-paced, fluid environment. They can drive the discovery-to-delivery process on their own (our team operates remotely), and refine it with the support of the Head of Marketing and Sr. Graphic Designers. From day one, they’ll learn quickly and step into our team with the ability to deliver on-brand print and digital designs. If you love the way freshly printed paper feels, budget for impulsive font purchases, and are a fiend for finding new ways to intersect patterns and imagery — you’ll fit in great.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Synthesize our brand identity into a wide range of marketing and creative assets that drive brand awareness and
business growth
• Deliver design for print, web, and digital that support marketing efforts, event, promotions & environments
• Collaborate with the Sr. Designers and marketing team to support the build out of creative assets needed for fully
integrated marketing campaigns
• Act as the subject matter expert and liaison between our nine markets for Bouldering Project
Brandfolder (DAM platform)
• Leverage InDesign to create Brandfolder templates for distribution to all internal teams
• Help to design and format internal communication tools such as presentations, emails, and manuals
• Work with vendors to ensure quality product and printing
• Uphold BP brand, image, and identity in all deliverables
REQUIREMENTS
• 2-5 years of working experience as a graphic designer or closely related position; bachelor’s degree in design or
commensurable experience. Agency a plus
• Have an intermediate level of knowledge of the Adobe Suite — Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD
• Experience working & managing a DAM platform
• A portfolio that demonstrates a compressive understanding of design fundamentals (type, layout, color, etc.)
graphic design, and image editing; video editing a plus
• Curated eye for layout and composition and an understanding of how to balance form and function
• Strong communicator both in writing and in person with people in all areas and levels of the company
• Independently driven with organizational and multi-tasking skills, including demonstrated ability to manage
multiple projects in parallel
• Eager to learn with the ability to roll-up sleeves and collaborate in a hands-on, fast-growing and changing
working environment
• Comfortable communicating across the company to obtain information to drive projects forward
• Self-motivated, and not afraid to ask questions and push the envelope
• Experience interacting with or working in the climbing industry / community a plus
• Assist with photo editing and retouching as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Many duties require availability to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Occasional travel is required to support BP market
• Must be located in one of our BP markets
