Our client, a leading provider of reciprocating compressor solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to play a critical role in the technical and commercial success of their equipment proposals. You will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, designing customized compressor solutions, and supporting the sales team throughout the proposal process. This is a key position that directly impacts the company's ability to win new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Proposal Development:

    • Analyze customer specifications and requirements for reciprocating compressors in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.

    • Utilize the company's proprietary tools to design and select appropriate compressor solutions.

    • Develop comprehensive technical proposals, including detailed equipment specifications, performance curves, P&IDs, and inspection/test plans.

  • Commercial Support:

    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and delivery timelines.

    • Assist in creating cost-price models and profitability analyses for proposed solutions.

    • Identify and assess technical and execution risks associated with each project.

    • Contribute to the development of compelling value propositions that highlight the unique advantages of the company's equipment.

  • Project Handover:

    • Upon successful project award, prepare and submit all necessary documentation to the order execution team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in applications engineering or controls engineering is a plus, especially within the oil and gas industry.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Other:

    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

    • Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening.
