What would I be doing?:Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino and Hotel is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Kansas City has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel and more. Ameristar Kansas City also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar Kansas City is currently looking for a Barback to assist our Beverage department on the casino floor. As the bartenders’ extra set of hands, your job as barback is to make sure the bar is stocked, change kegs, clean and be the general go-to for everything the bar may need to offer guests an great experience that brings them back time and time again.Responsibilities:Responsibilities• Responsible for maintaining assigned area and backing up the bartender to assure superior guest service.• Maintains a well stocked and fully prepared bar.• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of assigned area.• Performs routine cleaning and day to day maintenance of all bar equipment.• Requires a working knowledge of various cleaning supplies and chemicals, including safe handling, storage and usage requirements.• Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image for Ameristar Casino Kansas City• Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.• Keep bar completely stocked for next shift.• Heavy lifting of kegs and soda bibs.• Pushing heavy bins of beer from pump room to events.• Loading and unloading of the product after events.• Job Tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standardsWhat are we looking for?:Required Knowledge and Skills• Able to communicate sufficiently with co-workers and supervisors.• Practice good safety procedures.• Adhere to the guest service requirement listed above• This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty• Ability to work in a fast paced environment 24/7 environment.• Ability to work some nights,weekends and holidays.• Always conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive and professional image.• Ability to establish rapport with other team members throughout the casino.• Ability to be on time to each scheduled shift.• Maintain a positive attitude at all times.• High School Diploma or equivalent/ 1 year Barback experience is preferredWhat would it be like to work at this property?:At Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City, when we say "More Fun", we mean it literally.
