About this role:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on design champion with a background in leading in-house creative teams to deliver a truly omnichannel brand experience to consumers and retail partners for our Kidde Residential Fire Products business. The Design Manager leads the ideation, development, and delivery of all branded materials, campaigns, and design executions. You will lead the development of our brands and products by fully exploring creative briefs and delivering wow-worthy work to the highest of standards. You will work with leaders and peers across our marketing, product development, engineering, copywriting, creative operations, production, and structural packaging teams to deliver work on-time and complete.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the organization’s design thought leader and brand keeper while professionally servicing partner teams and holding teams accountable to assigned work

Inspires and creates big idea thinking/new brand visions through multiple design solutions with the consistency of being on target with design objectives and brand strategy

Coaches and mentors team members in design ideation and executional excellence within assigned workload, identify talent gaps and leads with compassion and integrity

Ensures that brand design executions will cohesively work across all consumer touchpoints in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders including the digital, mobile app, trade, and brand teams

Establishes brand kick-off meetings, brainstorming, and ideation sessions

Partners with creative operations to ensure processes are efficient and continuously works to optimize

Works with creative operations and project managers to establish, publish and oversee project timelines including key milestones, and design reviews, and holds team members accountable for assigned work

Develops positive relationships with partner teams and holds the ability to communicate clearly and confidently to clients when brand perspective, insight, or troubleshooting is needed

Oversees original design development and efficient roll-out and production across all brand initiatives in partnership with internal and external partners and ensures consistent design intent through various development and production processes

Collaborates with partner teams and leadership in the ideation and development of designs and redesigns for existing brand assets including digital marketing, social media, brand and retailer PDP’s and print materials

Leads the creation of design concepts and refinements into final concepts for internal presentations & partners with cross-functional team members to move projects through the process from concept development through file release for production

Champions brand guidelines and toolkits, recommending and executing regular updates and adjustments as required while professionally servicing partner teams, building business relationships, representing design leadership, and influencing the studio culture
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
-
5 + years of experience in design leadership
-
5 +years of experience working in a brand-driven, in-house creative team environment
-
7 + years of experience with design software (Adobe Creative Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Workfront project management and collaboration tool

Strong portfolio showcasing a range of brand-driven consumer-facing design executions including brand design systems, digital advertising, motion graphics, video creative direction, and product collateral development

Extensive experience leading design teams through ideation and delivery of brand and product-driven assets across all consumer touchpoints in a high-volume, fast-paced corporate creative team environment

Ability to continuously inspire team members to develop breakthrough ideas in response to strategic briefs for product and brand launches

Effective design and creative management and leadership skills

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong, trusting relationships and interact with staff at all levels

Excellent technical/computer skills

Exceptional written and presentation skills; create detailed process documentation to convey your thoughts and ideas to various stakeholders

Pay Range:
$108,750 - $152,250 Annually
