Overview

Morning Brew's Brand Partners are a group of entrepreneurial hustlers that build truly consultative partnerships with brands and agencies alike. 


We're seeking a relentlessly motivated and proven seller ready to roll up their sleeves, think outside of the box, and get creative with branded and custom partnerships. This role is perfect for some whose default setting is to take action and who love working towards (and beating) tangible and measurable revenue goals. This will be achieved by leveraging deep agency and/or brand connections, pounding the pavement, and introducing the Brew to many brands and advertisers.


This is not a typical sales role. Just as we provide the best daily business experience to our readers, we work tirelessly to understand the marketing goals of our advertisers and develop creative and tailored campaigns that WOW our brand partners without jeopardizing the quality of our voice and brand.


The Brand Partner will report directly to the Sr. Director of Brand Partnerships of Finance within the Revenue Org, focusing on the following finance categories: Loan/Mortgage, Retirement, Tax, Insurance, and Financial Planning/Budgeting. This is an integral role within Morning Brew's Brand Partnerships team. 


Morning Brew is based in New York City, but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates.


What you'll do:

-Own and grow our Loan/Mortgage, Retirement, Tax, Insurance, and Financial Planning/Budgeting categories through existing relationships, outreach, prospecting, networking, and research.

-Determine what advertising strategies would help clients reach target audiences efficiently while weaving together multiplatform activations across newsletters, social, audio, on-site, and experiential that exceed client KPI benchmarks. 

-Prospecting & outreaching a high volume of new financial partners 

-Develop a bottoms-up account and category forecasts, and strategically identify and plan 6 and 12 months out.

-Own, manage and exceed individual quarterly sales quota.

-Pitch and sell to C-Suite executives, brands, and agencies.

-Advocate for Morning Brew's offering of ad products that reach our core audience through engaging & accessible content.

-Integrate native content storytelling within Morning Brew's ecosystem of content channels, including newsletters, podcasts, content creators, and branded and editorial content initiatives.

-Establish industry expertise in people operations and convey Morning Brew's powerful audience story to accelerate partnerships. 

-Understand and utilize specific data and audience insights that define Morning Brew's audience


What makes you qualified:

-Significant professional digital or integrated media sales experience (4+ years of direct media sales experience; 6+ years of media experience)

-History of meeting and exceeding sales quotas due to the sale of complex deals

-Intimate knowledge and interest in financial services

-A strong foundation of deep/meaningful client (brand and agency) relationships. You will be expected to quickly initiate quality conversations, RFP inclusion, and/or other immediate revenue-generating opportunities

-Having a finger on the pulse of finance and business news

-Thorough understanding of the total sales cycle and digital media operations. This includes researching, prospecting, outreach, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals

-Ability to lead and close an RFP process, creating tailored partner proposals that include: native digital content, audio integrations, long-form content, social media & virtual event sponsorships

-Forecast, track and report on sales performance, meeting quarterly targets set by management

-Proven ability to effectively organize across multiple accounts and internal teams

-Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Creativity is also a must

-Passion for and belief in Morning Brew, its mission, and its franchises and product
