The candidate for this role must live in or near the Nashville, TN area or be relocating there. Relocation assistance and VISA sponsorship are NOT being offered for this position.The role will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating IT resources within the selected portfolio and managing the operating model from intake to delivery of portfolio investments. This person is a primary resource to the senior leadership assigned to oversee the portfolio, as well as any project/program-related steering committees. The position is also responsible for senior executive engagement and reporting on the state and performance of initiatives within the selected project portfolio. This role assumes the overarching responsibility for understanding the organizational needs of the portfolio capabilities, supporting the life cycle of organizational investments and initiatives that optimally achieve enterprise goals and objectives.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:• Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of senior leadership to optimize portfolio investments and its structure and processes, from demand management and strategic alignment of projects and programs to portfolio categories and criteria, through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.• Engage with organizational leaders across the West geographies to evaluate mix of portfolio investments, execute change, and reprioritize to meet business needs as required.• Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies both across the projects and programs within the portfolio as well as across other IT portfolios to resolve or escalate conflicts.• Oversee the financial planning process for respective capabilities within the portfolio, and ensure appropriate financial coordination and procedures are being adhered to.• Support and advise executives on actions required to balance the portfolio of existing assets and services.• Lead reviews of any significant initiatives, projects or programs that are challenged and provide recommendations as to whether it should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued.• Responsible for portfolio value tracking of initiatives to stakeholders, the IT steering committee, and senior executives.• On behalf of the portfolio review team and steering committees, ensure the adherence to the appropriate governance functions relating to the portfolio and in accordance with enterprise guidelines, policies and practices.• Understand portfolio capacity and cost to deliver, identifying staffing needs required to support investment decisions.Senior Level Responsibilities:• Executive Steering Committee-level presentations• Portfolio Management milestone plans, forecasts and resource allocation• Accountable for deliverables and timeline commitments.Supervisory Responsibilities:• Indirectly supervise team members.• Perform or contribute to performance reviews for program managers, release train engineers, and others.• Mentor junior level staff.• Contribute to ongoing improvement of organizational portfolio management processes.Preferred Qualifications:• Seven to 10 years or more of diverse roles and increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs.• Experience leading projects of large and complex scope• Experience managing Agile software development projects and groups.• Experience with Digital Transformation and customer experience improvement initiatives.• Demonstrated experience in managing "upward" among senior leadership.• Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams.• Substantial consulting leadership experience a plus.Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree; 6 y+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience• Or Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experienceCertifications:• Project or Program Management Professional (PMP/PGMP) Certification preferred• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred• SAFe Lean Portfolio Management and/or Scrum Master Certification preferredTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
