Brokerage Operations Associate II

  • This position is located in our Westlake, OH office but eligible for a hybrid remote schedule.

ETC Brokerage Services is a broker-dealer registered with the SEC, and a member of SIPC and FINRA, providing brokerage services to individual retirement and other custodial accounts for which its affiliate, Equity Trust Company, serves as custodian.

JOB OVERVIEW
  • The ETC Brokerage Operations Associate role provides institutional broker dealer operations support.
  • This entails client onboarding, asset movement, trade settlement, and establishment and servicing of investment accounts.
  • The role includes a multitude of processing functions from the opening of an account to the transfer of assets, depositing of funds, and maintenance of standard and non-standard asset types.
  • Handles escalated client requests and provides basic training to newly hired Operations Associates.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Reviews required elements and performs a variety of transactions to establish and maintain accounts and investments, including the transfer of assets, cash movement, corporate actions, and processing of non-standard asset investments
  • Onboards new clients including the collection of necessary documentation and screening of new accounts
  • Processes asset movement requests and daily settlement wires
  • Facilitates cash movement in and out of clients accounts & the broker-dealer
  • and telephone
  • Initiates and processes account transfers and appropriate follow-up
  • Performs Corporate Actions and Income processing activities
  • Securities Cashiering activities
  • Purchase & Sales reconciliation, Trade Settlement, and Fail Control operations
  • Acts as the liaison between home office and Registered Investment Advisor offices
  • Monitors and maintains daily position and cash balancing
  • Develops and fosters strong partnerships across Company affiliates to resolve issues and exceed client expectations
  • Provides guidance to fellow team members, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness, and overall success of the department.
  • Adheres to department service level agreement for all processes
QUALIFICATIONS
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in customer service or Operations environment, preferably in a financial services company
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and functions
  • Has analytical skills, active listening, professionalism and is results-driven
  • Knowledge and experience of retirement and taxable account types preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Data Entry
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to type at least 45+ WPM preferred
  • Basic 10 key skills a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear.
  • The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
  • This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
