Engineering Manager, Backend

Bubble is seeking an Engineering Manager in the Platform division to lead the redesign and delivery of the runtime systems for fullstack Bubble applications. This role involves managing complex distributed systems to provide high scale and reliability.

Skills

Experience in building complex distributed systems
Strong knowledge of queuing, event buses, and high availability concepts
Experience with Node, Rust, and other cloud native technologies

Responsibilities

Lead, uplevel, and promote a diverse team of 7-9 engineers
Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement next-gen distributed systems
Address and resolve complex scaling issues and drive technical innovation
Navigate tradeoffs and challenges inherent to legacy software trying to scale
Build an engineering culture of shared success and shared failure
