Overview:
We are looking for a Building Engineer to provide daily maintenance and upkeep of an office building in the West Palm Beach area.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee preventative maintenance, necessary maintenance, and repairs to the building’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life safety, fire protection and security systems ensuring all are completed by designated outside contractors. Must be familiar with the locations and have working knowledge of all systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.

Monitor and maintain regulatory and mandatory monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections ensuring all are completed within the designated timeframes without fail.

Perform daily reviews of grounds upkeep, lighting, ceiling tiles, housekeeping, and building storage/mechanical areas and operating equipment to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site.

Respond to tenant and building maintenance requests through both personal contact and work order systems.

Prepare and maintain preventative maintenance logs, schedules, requirements, and records Working knowledge of preventative maintenance and work order software systems.

Coordinate contractor, tenant and management approvals for work orders that require the use of an outside contractor. Maintain log of work order details.

Participate in emergency response procedures (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and safety training programs.

Familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with the site.

May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years previous building operations engineering experience.

Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls, maintenance and operation of building and fire life safety systems.

Ability to manage multiple projects, make decisions and manage time effectively.

Proficient computer and e-mail skills, knowledge of operations and office automation applications.

Holds any necessary/required licenses.

Must have the ability to complete required safety classes that pertain to specific job duties.

While performing the duties of this job, employee will regularly be required to walk long distances to cover the building and property portfolio.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
