Building Engineer

Objective:

The Building Engineer will be responsible for the performance of all building equipment maintenance using accepted industry standard methods and following the manufacturers' guidelines on each piece of equipment, in additional to specific instructions from the Chief Engineer/Lead Engineer. The Building Engineer will respond to all tenant and management requests assigned to them in a safe, efficient, clean and professional manner.

• High School Diploma

Duties:

1. Work closely with onsite building engineer(s).

2. Record all the relevant readings of each day in the equipment log books.

3. Responsible for performing all work safely and reporting to the Chief Engineer/Lead Engineer any observed safety and security problems.

4. Willing to work flexible hours to include but not limited to: Rotating on-call and weekend duty and carrying a mobile telephone to respond to calls from onsite security or security monitoring firm. Be available for overtime work as required.

5. Maintain accurate lists; security and stocking levels of building tools and consumable supplies.

6. Basic operation, repair and preventative maintenance on all electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment of the base building, to include but not limited to chillers, cooling towers, and lobby and parking lot lights.

7. Maintain the condensing water and chill water loop chemical treatment and filtration program at the direction of the Chief Engineer/Lead Engineer.

8. Maintain cleanliness of all mechanical, electrical and pump rooms, which may include miscellaneous painting.

9. Basic operation, repair and preventative maintenance of the fire alarm, fire sprinkler and emergency generator systems.

10. Installation and repair of locksets and related door/lock issues.

11. Any reasonable assignment or request related to the building operation as directed by the Chief Engineer/Lead Engineer.

12. Good communication skills and above-average ability in computer skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
