Bumble is looking for an experienced, energetic and analytical tax professional to join Bumble as Director, International Tax. The Director, International Tax will oversee the international tax compliance and planning processes for the company.  The role will rely heavily on coordinating and collaborating across functions to enhance and improve financial systems and external reporting associated with international matters. 


This role will be based in the USA in New York, reporting to the VP of Tax and Treasury.


What You'll Do:
  • Knowledge of international tax rules and regulations sufficient to evaluate the impact to our business model. 
  • Provide global oversight and review of third-party consultants to ensure compliance with local corporate income tax and transfer pricing filing requirements
  • Participate in negotiations with advisors on fees, provide cost benefits to senior management for any new projects, and assist in decisions related to use of internal vs. external resources as well as RFPing work as necessary
  • Responsible for global transfer pricing operations including performing calculations and coordination with regional tax and accounting personnel for posting to the general ledger, confirmation of accounting results, and coordination with global treasury to ensure proper settlement of I/C transactions and flows 
  • Provide global oversight and review with respect to foreign income tax audits including investigating and preparing responses to notices and inquiries from various taxing authorities. 
  • Responsible for U.S. international income tax analysis to support the quarterly ASC 740 global tax provision
  • Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the US international and material foreign tax accounting provisions with our external US financial statement auditors.  The U.S. international tax expertise should include a working knowledge of DCL, OFL, 987, 988, GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, BEAT and FTC rules.
  • Review of the Company’s foreign ASC 740 uncertain tax positions analysis and documentation of conclusions in annual memorandums
  • Stay abreast of tax law changes in the U.S. and in the key foreign jurisdictions we operate to manage risk and identify potential planning opportunities.
  • Develop and execute tax planning strategies including driving cash repatriation efforts and assist with any foreign M&A transactions to ensure a smooth transition with the existing business.
  • Perform research related to international tax issues as they arise; document tax implications accordingly
  • Manage the execution and strategic oversight of the OECD's Pillar Two framework, including cross-functional collaboration with finance, legal, P&C and other teams to satisfy compliance requirements and to implement restructuring to minimize implications of the new rules
  • Provide global oversight and review with respect to foreign income tax audits including investigating and preparing responses to notices and inquiries from various taxing authorities
  • Develop and execute tax planning strategies including driving cash repatriation efforts and leading M&A transactions and internal restructurings. 
  • The cross-functional nature of the restructuring work will necessitate strong communication and collaboration across several functions including finance, legal and P&C
  • Coach and mentor a direct report; assess performance and provide feedback


Who You Are:
  • BA/BS in Accounting, or Finance1 0-15+ years of relevant multinational public corporate tax experience with a Fortune 500 company, law firm, and/or CPA firmCPA, MS/MBA tax, or law degree a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accountingKnowledge of transfer pricing principles and experience with implementation of U.S. and foreign intercompany transactions and agreements
  • Experienced in research of US international and foreign tax laws, rules and regulations and application to specific scenarios
  • Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Good collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Experience working with Up-C structures or partnerships a plus
  • Ability to quickly understand and integrate business objectives with tax strategies, and effectively communicate tax requirements to executive team
  • Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to leverage, coach and motivate talent to inspire action and achieve results
  • Experience working with a mix of in-house and outsourced resources
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment where you communicate daily with world-class talent from our global teams including Finance, Legal, Treasury, Human Resources and other organizations

$162,000 - $200,000 a year
Base Compensation Range: $162K - $200K. For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location. This position is also typically eligible to participate in our short- and long-term incentive programs. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) match, Unlimited Paid Time Off Policy.
