The Role

We are looking for an excellent communicator and leader to work closely with our internal tax teams and clients and their teams. The ideal candidate will possess proven strategic leadership and can shift between competing priorities seamlessly. Your Typical, Atypical, Day

  • The Director of Income Tax is responsible for applying industry-specific knowledge to advise clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, and identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues.

  • In this role, the Director of Income Tax is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, and recognizing, communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy, and making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation, and resolution of questions from federal / state agencies.

  • In addition, you will be a critical member of the leadership team and thus will be involved in direct supervision as either a final or secondary reviewer.

  • Finally, you will actively participate in marketing, networking, and business development within an area of expertise and specialization while maintaining client relationships.


About You

  • Bachelor's degree required; major in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.

  • MAcc (Master's of Accounting)  or MST (Master’s of Taxation) degree preferred.

  • At least 10 or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.

  • Strong managerial, supervisory, and decision-making skills to direct staff daily to achieve department and client goals.

  • CPA certification required, or Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction). 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to compose written tax advice.

  • Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationship

  • Ability to delegate work properly, follow-up, and resolve problems firmly and equitably.

The base pay range target for the role described in this job description is $175,000 - $210,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition full-time regular positions are eligible for, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time.
