Job Title: Business Analyst, Analytics

Job Summary:
The role is responsible for working with diverse stakeholders to complete projects and prepare detailed reporting and analytics which will increase transparency and optimize performance throughout Just Energy. This role will require the ideal candidate to think critically to understand, assess and resolve unstructured problems to create strategies for analysis and resolution. Work will typically be project-based and assigned based on strategic priorities of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Build SQL queries to perform complex data extraction from various sources and analysis to deliver actionable insights in a timely manner, while ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Develop various management reports, dashboards, presentations, and other analytical tools to increase visibility and communicate challenges and concerns with suggested improvements.
- Create complex models and analytical tools to prepare detailed analytics which are easily understood by all levels within the organization.
- Perform various ad-hoc reporting, research, and analysis duties to support day-to-day operational and strategic management decisions.
- Perform in-depth quantitative analysis leading to actionable recommendations to the leadership team.
- Partner with various teams throughout the organization to identify process improvements and gather inputs and commentary necessary to complete projects and understand results through observation, interviews, data mining, and process analysis.
- Clearly and concisely report results to diverse audiences, including executive management.
- Highlight areas of opportunities and identify ways to optimize business performance.
- Succinctly articulate ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others.
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise messages (both written and oral).
- Self-starter with the ability to take a project and think through the possibilities and details to create a strategy for analysis and resolution with little direction.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Great work ethic with commitment to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellence in disciplined execution, delivering expected results on time, and on budget.

Years of Experience:
- 0-4 years of experience in a business analysis or similar technical role.
Education:
- University degree in the field of Business, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical/STEM equivalent required.
Technology Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of the following is required:
o Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
§ Ability to write and edit complex queries
o Power BI
§ Ability to create dashboards and automate reports and write DAX functions
o SSMS/SSRS/Visual Studio
§ Ability to create and deploy automated SQL reports
o Microsoft Excel
§ Ability to create pivot tables, vlookup formulas, macros, and other excel functions
- Proficiency with Visio and PowerPoint.
- Billing system experience preferred.
- Energy retailer industry experience preferred.
