Business Analyst

We're looking for a talented analytics thought leader who is passionate about marketplaces and wants to change the way people learn languages. You will own the key business metrics of the company. This includes being a thought leader on what those metrics should be, building quality pipelines to produce them, and being the subject matter expert on the drivers of those metrics. You will also be part of a nascent data community where you will help other analytics team members build and drive adoption of analytics processes that ensure data quality and technical rigor.

Job Requirements:

• 4+ years in industry experience and a degree (Masters is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research)

• Ability to drive data strategies, with a central source of truth to impact business decisions

• Experience designing and building metrics, from conception to data pipeline implementation

• Experience with an ETL framework

• Expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R) and SQL

• Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments

• Proven ability to communicate clearly to audiences of varying technical levels
  

Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years of relevant industry experience Experience with machine learning and forecasting techniques

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Compensation Package $140,000 - $160,000 USD Base Salary + Pre-IPO Stock Options
