The Business Development Director for Armand de Brignac is responsible for the effective implementation and execution of the Armand de Brignac commercial strategies in North America. Works with the MHUSA Commercial Team and the Armand de Brignac Maison to increase brand desirability across a variety of channels and consumer touchpoints to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Commercial Development
- Build and implement AdB sales and commercial strategies to drive business growth and deliver on PMT and Budget targets in North America, while ensuring alignment with AdB Maison and MHUSA Commercial teams
- In partnership with the AdB Maison and the MHUSA Commercial teams, deliver market prioritization, product mix, channel distribution, pricing, and local A&P allocation
- Work with the MHUSA Commercial teams and Distributors to support and develop profitable distribution of the full AdB portfolio
- Communicate regularly with the MHUSA Commercial teams, Distributors and key stakeholders to achieve both strategic brand priorities as well as commercial sales and profit targets
Activation Programs
- In partnership with AdB Brand Marketing team and MHUSA Commercial Marketing Director, define and execute local marketing plans within the North America market
- Develop and execute programs that consistently deliver on consumer expectations and enhance overall brand desirability
- Drive strategic alignment to activation guidelines in partnership with Commercial teams and AdB Maison Marketing, including implementation of promotional programs
Strategic Planning (PMT) and Budgets
- Build the volume and pricing plans for the PMT in collaboration with MHUSA and AdB Maison
- Partner with AdB Maison Marketing in the development of activation tools, POS and VAP allocations
- Make strong recommendations on trade marketing tools and assets to support the achievement of commercial and brand marketing targets
Market Support and Report
- Conduct regular market visits throughout North America; deliver feedback and make recommendations to the Masion and MHUSA commercial team based upon strong knowledge of AdB consumer behavior
- Track and review on a monthly basis:
o Pricing
o Distribution (points of distribution, velocity, and accounts sold)
o Sales
o Depletions
o IRI Consumption
o Market Trends and Competitive Activity
o Activation of Marketing programs
- Provide regular assessments of risks and opportunities in North America market; Identify and share strategies to mitigate risks and optimize opportunities.
Operations Support
- Work closely with AdB Maison and MHUSA Operations teams to ensure quality of forecast and sufficient supply of product to ensure delivery of the budget through the S&OP and APO process
- Partner with AdB Maison to ensure new products and VAPS meet market needs through NPD process
Market Support / Ambassador
- Act as an Ambassador for AdB in North America, participating as host for portfolio events, as necessary; create excitement and awareness amongst commercial and distributor teams through combination of knowledge and passion for product portfolio and consumer
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Professional Experience
10+ years of marketing or commercial experience; wines and spirits 3-tier system experience preferred
Practical/Technical Knowledge
- Ability to understand brand strategy development in a commercial context, as well as commercial and financial levers
- Strong knowledge of culture, luxury environment & lifestyle trends
- Ability to successfully adapt to a variety of work styles and preferences
- Demonstrate success influencing cross-functional key stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Highly refined communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills to support data-driven decision making
- Proven ability to lead creative strategy, including campaign development and deployment
- 50% of travel required
Salary range: $156K-$190K
