As Business Development Director, you will be part of the launching team for Sword Move, a new business line at Sword anticipated to drive major growth for Sword Health. In this role, you will be responsible for building our GTM strategy and signing strategic partners across key B2B verticals. You'll help define the ecosystem of potential clients & develop the value proposition for Sword Move across different use cases and buyer personas. You will work closely with our core Commercial teams to ensure we are continuing to iterate our value proposition, pitch and strategy to drive sales.

This role will require a combination of strategy development with relationship management skills and a strong track record of sales success.

You will possess a builder mentality and be equally excited to collaborate and build with other teams, as managing your own pipeline. Experience in a results-driven and/or startup environment will be important, as you will work cross-functionally with the GM, Marketing, Sales/Business Development, Operations teams on a daily basis to ensure that our GTM strategy is as strong as possible.

What You'll Do:

  • Define sales strategies and execute on go-to-market plans
  • Working collaboratively with the GM and Sales leadership to test different value propositions pricing structures and angles to enter the market and solve client challenges
  • Work with Commercial team on broader sales strategy and scaled outreach; acting as a thought partner to continuously iterate our pitch and offering
  • Have a passion for healthcare and impacting the lives of people. Generate new business opportunities to fuel the pipeline in an assigned new verticals
  • Collaborate with other teams regarding sales messaging, tactics, product feedback, prospecting, events, marketing
  • Build relationships and help determine how to best educate buyers on our product, whilst collecting feedback
  • Become an additional spokesperson for the business at conferences and other industry events
  • Establish a business cadence, build and execute operational rigor around initiatives and pipeline management with internal and external collaborators
  • Understand and communicate market opportunities, needs and partner feedback to cross-functional teams to inform product roadmap and prioritization
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to share best practices and make recommendations to more effectively close sales and ensure customer dedication

What we’re looking for:
Required Skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of experience enterprise sales, business development, consulting, or comparable roles in the health and benefits space
  • Previous startup experience and/or ability to thrive in a fluid environment and willingness to get hands dirty
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close deals ranging from tactical, mid-size opportunities, to strategic, large and complex partners
  • Self-driven, motivated, inspiring and entrepreneurial; ability to own outcomes and make things happen
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer. Should be able to collaborate with other team members to make sure our growth efforts are well executed;
  • Analytical with ability to dive into numbers to track key metrics
  • Strategic mindset, when making a decision, can think 10 steps ahead with scale in mind.
  • Proven record of structuring projects and programs and working with a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve goals.
