Business Development/Proposal Support Specialist

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems embraces an "All-In" client-focused approach recognizing that each person within the company plays a vital role in client service. At TranSystems, clients are assigned to Business Development professionals and Client Service Teams. This approach allows us to best support the needs and goals of our clients.

The Business Development Support Specialist (BDSS) plays a key role in supporting our continued growth in the West Region, primarily focusing on assisting our California teams. The BDSS will assist with business development efforts for transportation infrastructure sectors: Federal, Government, Freight, Transit, and Aviation. Additionally, the BDSS supports Client Service Teams and Business Development teams with growing social media presence and maintaining social media calendar, and client and project pursuit activities, such as assisting in developing and producing qualifications, proposals, and presentations. As a Support Specialist, there will be many training opportunities to learn about the transportation market and the A/E/C industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone fascinated by the different modes of transportation and the infrastructure used to connect and enhance the movement of goods and people across today's integrated transportation system. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a can-do attitude and strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under tight deadlines.

Business Development Support
  • Supports individual parts of proposal development and production: resumes, project sheets, data collection, coordination, printing, assembling, and electronic submissions.
  • Assistance with individual parts of a proposal, presentation, or a qualifications package may include research, writing, editing, formatting, and quality checking of text and graphics.
  • Assists with archiving proposal content and uploading to appropriate internal databases or servers as part of the proposal closeout procedures.
  • Assists with pipeline maintenance and qualification activities such as opening and updating opportunities, updating staff resumes, and project descriptions using our Marketing Information System, Deltek Vision.
  • Assists with creating brochures, cut sheets, presentations, and marketing collateral for client meetings, conferences, and interviews.
  • Supports pursuit capture planning and Client Service Teams by documenting meeting notes and action items.
  • Conduct research to support capture planning and Client Service Team activities.
  • Assists with conference planning.
  • Maintains and manages social media calendar and assists with social media strategy.

Qualifications:

What you bring to our firm:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with a focus on attention to details.
  • Applicant must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
What we prefer you bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, English, communications, or related field is preferred.
  • Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Graphic design is a plus.


For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, TranSystems is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $25 - $30 hourly.
