Job Description
The Data and Analytics team utilizes modern technology to enable self-service analytics and dashboards for all functional groups within Myriad including: Laboratory Operations, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Medical, Executive Management, Operations, Financial, and Regulatory Compliance. The Lab Analytics team partners closely with world-class DNA sequencing laboratories across the Myriad portfolio of products to provide operational and analytical insights. Projects typically involve working with product development teams to scope, validate, and measure the success of advances to our automated lab systems. Daily activities include developing self-service analytics tools that enable insights into how we can improve the efficiency and quality of our laboratory tests.
A successful analyst can integrate data from our LIMS and Genetic Data Review applications to form insightful data models, which can be intuitively leveraged into actionable reports and dashboards. The data analyst develops positive relationships with stakeholders across several scientific teams such as Lab Management, Quality Control, Genetic Data Review, and Sample Processing. The Analyst also helps to share best practices and advanced technology for monitoring the pulse of lab operations.
Success in this role requires a continuous learner with a demonstrated aptitude and interest in both data analytics and bioscience. Must be comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced setting as the laboratories are continuously evolving and improving and need our team to help guide decision making. Must be able to manage the analytical priorities of multiple scientific stakeholders with minimal direction, driving multiple projects in a remote work setting.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the team and users to design and deliver comprehensive reporting solutions in a remote work environment
Outline and facilitate the collection of key data sources needed to drive business insights and direction
Collaborate with engineers and product development to understand the source data model and how to best integrate into the existing analytics data model
Design and administer dashboards and a self-service reporting program in order to support the reporting needs of the organization
Assist in the analysis of information to understand various trends and related opportunities
Interpret reporting results and assist in the creation of action plans to drive our business objectives
Drive the creation and administration of common definitions leading to accuracy and trust of reporting
Assist leadership team to leverage our reporting to drive the business objectives
Translating technical and functional user requirements into a value driven solution
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bio Informatics, Mathematics, Lab Science, Chemistry, Biology, or associate degree in Lab Technology or equivalent
2+ years of experience in laboratory (biology or chemical) operations, with at least 1 year in a role that required frequent data analysis to understand trends or unexpected results of experiments
Experience working with SQL and a data visualization toolset (i.e., Snowflake & Looker preferred)
General experience in the creation of dashboards using industry standard tools and techniques
Understanding of Data Analysis in relation to Business Process modeling
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks
Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and schedules
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
