Business Manager

We are seeking a Business Manager who is a team player and can be instrumental to the company’s growth. This role will report to the Director of People & Business Operations and will be managing a broad range of Business management functions such as IT, HR, and facilities. The right person for this role has excellent customer service skills, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is ready to hit the ground running at an exciting, fast-paced startup company. The day-to-day duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage HR, IT, and Facilities projects ranging from onboarding/offboarding employees, administrating Clinch’s hardware, and software, maintaining our HRIS, to the floor plan and new space development.
  • Provide first-level contact and communicate resolutions to coworkers for all HR, IT, and Facilities questions and issues to enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and using excellent customer service skills to exceed our coworkers’ expectations by following up, providing feedback, and seeing problems through to resolution
  • Act as liaison with onsite Property Management and 3rd party vendors
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of issues
  • Recommended procedure modifications or enhancements as needed to improve productivity and collaboration
  • Promote People Ops experience programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Undertake tasks around procurement, goal setting, performance management, personnel, and office management
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form, as needed
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations

Requirements:
  • This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office
  • 3+ years of Business Operations experience
  • Proven experience as a Workplace Manager or similar role in a start-up or mid-sized company
  • Understanding of general human resources, IT, and facilities policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment
  • Experience working with vendors, contracts, and related documents.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor/building laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Aptitude in problem-solving and people-oriented with a natural competence for building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
  • Desire to work as a team with a result-driven approach
  • The ability to lift 15 pounds regularly
  • BA/BS in Business administration, Human Resources, or relevant field
