Business Program Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for leading cross-functional efforts focused on the delivery of internal products, solutions, processes, or business systems.
  • Executes job functions with authority, while ensuring cross functional communications where appropriate, to align with the goals and directives of the programs and Company.
  • Makes decisions and acts in the best interest of the program, participating functional organizations, and Company
  • Effectively communicates expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Essential Functions:
    • Leads process improvement initiatives through accountability, analysis, and discussion of process alternatives to arrive at best practices.
    • Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts in process improvement, data capture and analysis, infrastructure support, tool ownership and compliance with procedures, etc.
    • Leads the implementation and acceptance of enterprise software systems, system integration projects/programs, or business systems and processes.
    • Provides central expertise, support, and control for developing program management and business system best practices/templates and providing training/mentoring to teams.
    • Develops and provides the business with robust implementation support for new and updated business processes, systems, and tools.
    • Serves as a central governing body to review/audit adherence to relevant organization/business system processes, procedures, and methodologies.
    • Organizes project activities and interdepartmental meetings; ensures communication facilitates completion of the project/program on schedule and within resource constraints.
    • Manages all phases of program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including planning and managing performance to ensure program goals and objectives (e.g., cost, schedule, technical) are attained.
    • Maintains relationships across a broad stakeholder base to ensure policies, approach, expectations, and execution of the business processes are upheld and attained.
    • Identifies and assesses project issues and creates effective solutions.
    • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
    • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in business administration, information technology or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressive Business Program Management experience (e.g., strategic business, operations, business process, program administration, or project/business management) experience with at least five of those years managing business processes or operations. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of business process principles, concepts, theory, and practices as well as strong project leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to contribute to the development of new business process principles, concepts, or solutions and be able to resolve complex management and technical problems.
  • Must be able to serve as a spokesperson on projects and/or programs. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to travel as required.
