Salary: $60,000 to $90,000+


Job Description:

Buyers are the “business owner” of high volume, commodity vendor and category groupings. They will strategically source products and brands, onboard new items, forecast demand, and negotiate vendor contracts with a ‘never good enough’ attitude. Buyers must have an entrepreneurial mind, a keen understanding of industry trends, and an intimate involvement with their product/industry arena. They are relentless when it comes to getting the best deal. We are looking for self-starting, confident, intelligent, individuals who want to make an impact in a busy and growing company. This position is full-time and located in Lancaster, PA.

Buyers serve Clark’s procurement division, which buys products for our various distribution channels (industry leading Ecommerce platform WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.). In 2022, we reached $3.2B in sales from a catalog of 400K+ SKUs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Heavily focused on pure negotiation of our highest volume, most commodity driven SKUs
  • Competitive nature that has them constantly looking for ways to improve our purchasing through cost, MOQs, terms and other key factors in any deal
  • Never settling with the current scenario, constantly looking to improve and optimize our situation
  • Owns key vendor relationships within product category/categories
  • Research and effectively launch new products to drive further results
  • Strategically define and execute projects to maximize revenue and gross profit
  • Generate creative ideas and take risks to optimize our ROI in their categories
  • Eliminates barriers to aide team effectiveness
  • Promotes vision, values, and culture


Skills & Requirements

  • Thrives in a position with little to no consistency
  • Creative problem solver, need to be able to think outside of the box
  • Strong EQ to be able to communicate effectively and frequently
  • Generate high quality decisions and take calculated risks based on both data/analysis and knowledge of the market/product
  • Negotiate with confidence
  • Ability to operate decisively in an ambiguous and highly volatile environment
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial spirit as the “business owner” of your category
  • Ability to set and achieve goals to increase sales and gross profit
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis in Excel
  • We consider applicants with diverse majors and work history; however, applicants frequently have education in Business Management, Supply Chain, Business Logistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant positions include Procurement Manager, Category Manager, Senior Category Manager, Technical Buyer, Buyer II, and Supply Chain Manager.


Ideal Applicants for this position:

  • Commute from within a 2-hour driving radius of our headquarters in Lancaster, PA
