About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Buyer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role will be responsible for supporting the procurement process, sourcing goods and services, and negotiating
contracts with suppliers. This role will work closely with the procurement team and other departments to ensure the company's procurement needs are met, while adhering to quality, cost, and delivery standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company.
  • Support the procurement team in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to assist in obtaining the best deals possible.
  • Ensure that all purchased items meet quality and safety standards, and comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Help maintain records of all purchasing activities, including price quotes, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and ensuring that stock levels are sufficient to meet demand.
  • Work closely with the accounts payable team to ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Participate in cost-saving initiatives and strategies.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
    or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:

  • Strong interest in procurement processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of safety and quality standards.
  • Proficient in the use of procurement software and tools.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior procurement staff.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
