Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.Online AssessmentCandidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in ByteDance's technical online assessment through HackerRank.Responsibilities:This internship provides students the opportunity to:• Develop efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products.• Code optimization to improve scalability, reliability, security and performance of web applications.• Collaborate with product design, product management and software engineering teams to deliver best in class user experience.Minimum Qualifications• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.• General familiarity and interest in frontend development, including:Languages: JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSSFrontend frameworks: React/Vue/AngularPackaging frameworks: Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp• Familiar with key concepts like functional and asynchronous programming, closures and types, layouts, specificity, animation, cross browser compatibility, data security and accessibility.• General understanding of multi-tier application architecture and protocols, familiarity with product and software development lifecycle process.Preferred Qualifications:• Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.• Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver.• Deeply passionate about software coding/development and building great mobile/web applications.• Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment.ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
