Caldera enables dynamic, scalable blockchain experiences. Currently, dapps that are deployed to general-purpose blockchains compete with thousands of other applications for space on the network — this can lead to congestion and high fees or even network outages.

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will:

• Have direct relationships with customers. Whether they’re a CTO, VP of Eng, or Software Engineer, you’ll be the face of Caldera and the first person they turn to when they need help. You’ll quickly build a network within the crypto startup community.

• Move fast. To support our customers, you’ll work across several codebases to release bug fixes and features. For example, one day you may fix a bug related to our deployed infrastructure and another day you may add features to the rollup dashboard.

• Drive our product roadmap. You'll develop intimate knowledge of the pain points customers have with our product and use that to help build delightful experiences for them.

• Build our team. We’re growing, and you will work directly with the CEO and CTO to bring in talented engineers to support your work, as well as the whole team.

You might be a good fit for this role if you:

• Have strong written and verbal communication skills

• Have prior experience developing with Python, Java, Typescript, Go, or other modern imperative languages

• Have strong debugging skills and can problem solve under uncertainty

• Care deeply about customer experience and customer success

• Are a passionate user of web3 apps

Bonus points if you…

• Have experience building web apps, SDKs, packages, or services in Typescript

• Have experience with modern infrastructure; containerization, infrastructure as code, kubernetes

• Have worked as a solutions engineer, forward deployed engineer, or similar externally facing role

• Are up-to-date with Ethereum scaling solutions such as sidechains or rollups

• Are familiar with how blockchains like Ethereum or Bitcoin work under the hood
