Lead Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities:• Work as part of Confluent’s multifunctional Nitinol Materials Team to develop and refine Confluent’s tubing, wire, and other related material forming capabilities.• Collaborate with operators, technicians, and other engineers to deliver materials specifications products that meet internal and external customer requirements.• Hands-on position with development for manufacturing as the primary focus.• Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, visual standards, and technical memorandums.• Coordinate with the Production team to provide training and manufacturing support.• Utilize six sigma and lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement of validated manufacturing processes.Essential Qualities:• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.• Communicate clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment.• Capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues.• Capacity to work independently, with minimal supervision.Education and Experience:• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years of related engineering experience.• In Depth understanding of material forming processes, like tube drawing, sheet rolling is a must• Fundamental understanding of the unique properties and behavior of Nitinol is needed• Possess strong mechanical aptitude, and creative/innovative thinking.• Interact with technicians and other engineers to develop and modify existing processesneeded to create Nitinol material products (tubing, strip, sheet).• Capable of applying good manufacturing principles during developmental phase• Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be capable of communicating clearly and efficiently in a highly technical environment.• Experience with nitinol processing and relevant equipment a plusConfluent Medical Technologies is dedicated to working collaboratively with our customers, taking their projects from rapid prototype into high volume production.
