We regularly work with other teams and relevant stakeholders as we build out our vision for the future of Capital One’s financial systems.What You’ll Do:• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in immutable, distributed systems, data streaming, and backend Scala based systems using functional programming to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment• Work with a cloud native stack, build on AWS, use technologies like Kubernetes and ServerlessBasic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)• At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)• At least 4 years of people management experiencePreferred Qualifications:• Master’s Degree• 10+ years of experience in software development• 7+ years of people management experience• 5+ years of experience with functional programming using Scala• 4+ years of experience with cloud technologies• 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks• 3+ years of experience designing or architecting distributed systems• 2+ years of experience in Agile practicesCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
