Sr. Risk Analyst

At Cardless, we’re building a credit card and loyalty platform that consumer businesses use to engage their customers. We’ve launched 9 credit cards, including for the largest mall operator in the U.S. and the largest airline in South America. We're headquartered in San Francisco, and have raised about $60M in equity funding from top venture capital firms and angels.———Risk at Cardless is responsible for the credit and underwriting policy for all of our partner brands as well as our fraud defenses. We aim to get risk management right in accordance with our risk appetite as our business continues to scale aggressively. As a Risk Analyst on the Risk team, you will be working on iterating our underwriting policy in response to product performance, and building the tools that will allow us to scale risk management across multiple new partners and brands, as well as reviewing our portfolio and incoming applications for suspicious and fraudulent activity. It’s going to be a monumental task but a challenge of this size should excite you. Additionally, since we are a startup, you will need to understand the balance between growth and risk and be comfortable making informed tradeoffs when needed.Responsibilities• Build and manage credit policy for our new and current brand partners• Develop and enhance our proprietary in-house risk models to predict loss behavior• Perform quantitative analysis to understand vectors of risk and fraud behaviors.• Create rules and strategies around mitigating fraud at all levels - applications, account management and transactions.• Run A-B testing to optimize Cardless’s business processes and strategies.Requirements• 3+ years of experience in credit risk in the consumer credit space.• Excellent analytical skills and experience querying large datasets - fluency in SQL and Excel are must haves.• Knowledge of statistical packages in other programming languages such as Python, SAS or R are a bonus.• Experience with experimental design and A-B testing.• Familiarity with data pipelining, data modeling and ETL processes.• Ability to tell clear stories using data• Strong understanding of the consumer credit space and familiarity with fair lending regulations such as ECOA, FCRA and TILA.• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.• Experience working with banking partners and third party data vendors is a bonus.LocationWe're headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with a beautiful office in the Mission District (near Dolores Park).
