The person in this role will primarily act as Quality Metrics Process Owner, Cause Analysis Process Owner, and assist with QA System ownership across the organization. The role will also act as Corrective Action System Process Owner, with monthly sub-tasks including system review/maintenance/development and facilitating various Review Boards as designated by Quality Management. Job Description Serve as Process Owner for select quality systems (i.e. Site Quality Metrics & Reporting, Event Investigation, Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, Nonconforming Material Control, Oversight Programs, etc.) Perform daily, weekly, monthly, annually recurring site quality metrics analysis and reporting functions, acting as Lead on behalf of the MT. Vernon Site Certify as Level 1 & Level 2 Cause Facilitator through BWXT Corrective Action Program as augmented by external professional training (i.e. TapRooT, Think Reliability, etc.) Lead ad-hoc teams on various technical assignments, primarily with a quality focus in metrics or causal analysis Present the results of metrics & causal analysis, both oral and written, to multiple levels of the organization (shop floor to executive management) Perform surveillance of manufacturing operations for compliance to contracts, procedures and work instructions Provide technical support of quality inspection, NDE, test operations, and QA systems Review manufacturing documentation and procedures for repairs and deviation work Participate in internal audits to ISO-9001 and contract requirements. Participate on LEAN and 5S kaizen improvement projects Perform special projects for quality engineering within the following areas: Defense in Depth reviews Corrective Action follow up and reporting Record Retention & Contract Closeout Quality improvement projects for operations Quality Metrics development & reporting Quality Systems Ownership & Oversight Other activities associated with delivery and certification of product Work overtime as necessary to support job functions Job Requirements: Have an Associate's degree, preferably in technical field + 8 years relevant experience or 10 yrs relevant experience, with preference to quality assurance and inspection. Bachelors degree or equivalent is preferred. Engineering degree is a plus. Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Be capable of obtaining DOE clearance Able to work safely in warehouse and manufacturing environments Able to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
