As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be an essential member of our dynamic and innovative Data Science team, contributing to the development and implementation of advanced analytical solutions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Analytics & Enablement, you will play a crucial role in our analytics capabilities, spearheading the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence frameworks that empower our customers to unlock actionable insights from complex data. Your expertise will guide the strategic integration of advanced analytics into our solutions, ensuring that our deliverables are not only predictive and prescriptive but also pragmatic and tailored to real-world application. In this role, you will harness the transformative power of data science to drive innovation, and foster data-driven decision-making.Responsibilities :• Manages, coaches, and provides guidance for professional employees• Engages with supported business partners and leaders to understand business strategies, objectives and priorities• Perform data mining and analysis to uncover trends and correlations that support operational and strategic decisions for customers and stakeholders• Collaborate with customers and colleagues across analytics and engineering to extract meaning and interpretation from data sets within an assigned area of responsibility• Develop and leverage expertise across Cox data sources, applications and operational functions to connect business processes to data-driven insights• Identify and apply 3rd party/external data sources to analytical projects• Engage with key stakeholders to translate business requirements into data science products and solutions• Develop clear and easily understood data visualizations to facilitate communication and understanding for customers and stakeholders• Share analysis and project updates with senior team members and management• Manage end-to-end data science projects, including project planning, data collection, model development, and deployment• Bring innovative ideas and best practices to enhance the overall capabilities of the data science team• Create data science assets and automations using a combination of tools and languages including SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, Tableau, Microsoft Azure (Fabric, ML Studio, ADF, Synapse, PowerBI, etc…)• Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in data scienceThis individual will have:• Passion for leveraging data and analysis to drive business decisions and create tangible value for stakeholders• Strong attention to detail and high degree of speed and accuracy• Ability to work independently, with little oversight while balancing multiple priorities• Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize work based on required deliverables• Strong analytical, operational and technical competency, with a proven ability to present data and complex analyses to audiences spanning line managers to senior management• Experience defining scope of work on personal projects/tasks and adapt to changing assignments, multiple priorities, and work effectively within project teams• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas in a simple, yet effective, manner• Ability to collaborate and function effectively with various teams and to gain consensus• Aptitude with new technologies and strong flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments• Experience leading and mentoring team members and junior analysts• Strong verbal and written communication skillsMinimum QualificationsRequired:• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years’ experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience; or 18 years’ experience in Data Scientist/Technology roles• Experience with multiple software languages and analytics tools (e.g., Spark, R, Python, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Microsoft Azure ML/AI Studio or other combinations)• Experience building and deploying operational models and analytics products with on-prem, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Oracle, Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure, or other)• Experience with at least one major data visualization/analytics tool (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, Alteryx), evidenced by hands-on usage, project work, etc.Preferred:• Degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or quantitative discipline)• Experience working in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure• Experience with data and analysis for corporate functions including: Finance, Accounting, Law & Policy, Contact Center/Help Desk, Real Estate, Operations, Marketing, Product, operations research, or energy and/or sustainability metrics & reporting• Experience working in agile delivery methodology
