We are a global company offering products and technical support worldwide through a broad network of local representatives and distributors.About this roleKidde-Fenwal has an opportunity for an International Trade Compliance Specialist to join the team. This person will play a crucial role in supporting our import and export operations by ensuring compliance with relevant trade laws, regulations, and policies; and work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and legal, to mitigate risks and streamline our global trade processes.Although this role is remote for someone based in the USA, quarterly visits to Ashland MA will be required.We value our people and offer an extensive benefits package, with financial rewards including health insurance, a retirement savings plan, and also lifestyle support with flexible working and parental leave. Plus, we’ll support your growth with paid-for external training programs and courses.Key Responsibilities• Stay abreast of changes in international trade regulations, tariff codes, and trade agreements to ensure ongoing compliance• Conduct regular audits and assessments of import/export activities to identify and address potential compliance issues• Accurately classify products based on tariff schedules and country-specific regulations• Collaborate with relevant teams to determine the correct classification of new products• Conduct risk assessments on new and existing trade activities, identifying potential compliance risks and proposing mitigation strategies• Implement internal controls to minimize exposure to trade-related compliance risks• Provide training to employees involved in import and export processes to enhance awareness of trade compliance requirements• Communicate changes in trade regulations and policies to relevant stakeholders within the organization• Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies related to trade compliance matters• Respond to inquiries and requests from customs authorities and other regulatory bodiesBasic Qualifications• Bachelor's degree• 5 years plus of experience in trade compliance within an industrial or manufacturing setting• Quarterly visits to Ashland MA requiredPreferred Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or international trade• In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, regulations, and customs procedures• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• English communication (written and Verbal) and good interpersonal skills• Attention to detail and the ability to work independentlyRSRCAR#LI-remote
