General Definition: The Group Sales Account Executive (AE) represents the Group Sales and Catering department by being the outside sales point of contact for any outside and/or large group sales, as well as, being tasked with finding new clients while growing existing relationships. As an AE, you will be representing Remington Park and communicating the variety of entertainment packages that Remington Park Sales & Catering has to offer.Supervision Received: Group Sales ManagerSupervision Exercised: N/AEssential Job Functions:Execute client event contracts, invoices, updates, and order forms; coordinate with internal departments.Manage event reservations and maintain the Caterease Reservation System.Manage and coordinate the details for client catering events (i.e.; linen colors, room layout, guest number, menus, dates, times, special requests, etc.)Conduct inbound and outbound sales calls and present the amenity options available to prospective clients.Represent and speak on behalf of Remington Park in a professional demeanor at public sales event such as but not limited to consumer trade shows (some travel required).Manage the appearance of assigned station or service areas to ensure they are maintained in a clean and functional manner.Meet or exceed the percentage of sales revenue forecasted by management each year.Coordinate and obtain event payment from clients.Coordinate with other departments to organize and implement large group needs.Manage the organization and timing of work assignments in order to maintain the greatest efficiency in scheduling and implementation of group events.Coordinate the schedule and completion of group sales promotions and special group offers, in accordance with policies, procedures, and programs.Ensure all required promotional and printed materials are received and in proper positioning for each group sales eventAuthorize final guest count for group events at the conclusion of events and provide the appropriate information to the Food & Beverage catering manager.Job Title: Group Sales Account ExecutiveConfidential Page 2 10/28/2019Coordinate trophy reports to the racing office weekly and take groups to the winners circle for presentations as needed.Engage in marketing promotion efforts as neededDemonstrate excellent employee support and external customer service.Monitor and replenish departmental related supplies and other materials.Advise appropriate staff members when assistance is needed.Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures and internal control protocols.Greet incoming guests with a pleasant demeanor.Give directions to guests and ensure they know where their party is located.Direct guests to the Club Remington Express booth for guests service-related questions.Keep count of the number of incoming guests entering the event space for attendance records.Review the Weekly Event Sheet to determine how many stickers and what color they should be for each group daily.Administrative duties in the sales office will include; filing, running credit card payments, answering phones, data entry.Ability work during nights, weekends and occasional afternoons; as well as some holidays; including but not limited to Memorial Day, Labor Day, New Years Eve.Perform all other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Associates degree in hospitality, sales or marketing related field and one to two years (1-2) of work-related experience in Food and Beverage, catering or event sales or planning. Or a combination of education and experience in a sale or planning field.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Ability to work independently and within a team environmentProficient in organization and prioritization of work while meeting multiple deadlines.Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.Able to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings and holidaysAbility to enter a smoke-filled environment as needed OR Must be able to work in a smoke-filled casino environmentTraining and Experience:Must be able to pass Title 31TrainingLicenses/Certifications/Other:Active State Drivers LicenseMust be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functionsMust be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative resultPhysical Requirements:Frequent Standing and walking for Medium work.
