The Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Navigator will support the implementation of Project ARK/Washington University School of Medicine Infectious Diseases (WUID) PrEP programming and prevention duties. The PrEP Navigator will be involved in both direct service delivery and administrative activities with the PrEP Program at WUID. The PrEP Navigator will also be involved in regional workgroups to expand and improve PrEP access. The PrEP Navigator will work closely with the Project ARK/WUID PrEP team to ensure delivery of PrEP services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Assist clients as they move through the care delivery system, including scheduling PrEP appointments, medication adherence support, retention support, and follow-up with patients that have fallen out of services.

Navigate patients through financial aspects of receiving care including acquiring insurance and billing resolution.

Assist with the elimination of barriers to services (i.e., financial and transportation barriers) and provide referrals to social support services.

Provide age and culturally appropriate support, referrals, and education to adult clients at risk for HIV/STIs.

Complete all required documentation for all PrEP Navigation services.

Assist with quality control and quality assurance tasks for the WUID PrEP Program.

Support PrEP data collection.

Conduct HIV/STI counseling and testing in clinic, which includes handling/transporting blood and urine specimens.

Recruitment of PrEP clients through community outreach and collaboration with community partners in the St. Louis Region.

Help to keep PrEP information up to date on the WUID PrEP Program website.

Support the implementation of biomedical (i.e., PrEP and PEP) HIV prevention interventions to identified population(s) by assisting with data collection and reporting.

Collaborate with key community stakeholders, including the St. Louis Regional HIV Coalition, St. Louis Region PrEP Work Group and associated committees to coordinate and enhance PrEP service delivery.

Foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration and give excellent customer service.

Maintain required HIPAA compliance, skills/competencies and participate in staff trainings and meetings, continuing education, and cross-training programs according to established standards and Washington University policies.

Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcomes.

Perform other duties as assigned to support the WUID PrEP Program.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Equivalent of a masters’ degree in a health related field, such as social work, counseling, sociology, or psychology.

Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds (i.e., people of color, LGBTQ-identified, people with unstable housing, people with behavioral health needs), as well as a professional and/or community engagement experiences that demonstrates a passion for diversity, inclusion and equity.

Experience with HIV/STI education and testing services.
-
Experience with and knowledge of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV.

Knowledge of community resources.
-
Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with physicians, healthcare providers/workers, support staff, adults and caregivers.

Experience/knowledge working with electronic medical records and ability to maintain timely and accurate documentation, including Excel spreadsheets.
Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in a health related field, such as social work, counseling, sociology, or psychology. Applicants with a bachelor’s degrees in other fields may be considered with sufficient case management experience.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
