As a Category Manager, Plastics , you will manage IDEXX’s sourcing strategy for plastics used to manufacture diagnostic products for the animal healthcare, water testing and dairy markets. You will become a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and execute procurement activity of tooling programs.
This is a newly created position that will be part of a growing team responsible for managing the plastic supply base for new products and current material requirements.

In this role, you will...
- Build trusted business partnerships with internal stakeholders to help drive category strategy and new cost reduction initiatives.
- Independently manage a pipeline of projects in an effective, organized, and timely manner.
- Source, qualify, negotiate the contract terms, and develop supply plans for the purchase of plastics materials, equipment or goods and services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IDEXX’s R&D, Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain organizations.
- Support global organization in leveraging best practices in all phases of contracting processes for supplier products and services.
- Partner with all levels of the organization to transform business requirements for products and services into actionable scope of works and specifications.

- Professional experience with plastics molding and tooling
- The ability to bring others along and influence both internal and external stakeholders to create alignment
