Be a part of our team of healthcare heroes and discover why Catholic Health was named Long Island's Top Workplace!Job DetailsThis position reports to the EMPI Data Integrity Manager, and is responsible for day to day data integrity operational functions of Catholic Health Services. This position will be responsible for day to day data cleanup and correction activities with the system-wide Epic EHR, document imaging, and any other designated information systems. This position will also be responsible for performing all duties necessary for ensuring the accuracy of medical records related to duplicate record management. The EMPI Data Integrity Coordinator position will also be responsible for the overall and aggregate health and accuracy of the EMPI, document imaging and any other designated information systems.Inter-RelationshipsProvides guidance, training and technical support to Health Information Management, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Information Services, Clinical Leadership (Hospital and Ambulatory), Practice ManagementDuties And Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)• Resolves duplicates in all source systems ensuring they are un-linked, all registration applications are in-sync and contain accurate demographic information. Maintains identifiers and corrects patient health information involving duplicate medical record numbers, social security numbers and other patient identifiers.• Investigates, identifies and validates the accuracy of demographics and assigns appropriate medical record number retention based on HIM guidelines• Ensures the accuracy of information entered and available in all databases• Sends request for demographic validation to appropriate facility or practice• Merges duplicate records from source systems upon validation• Monitors outstanding requests for validation or merging of duplicate records by appropriate facility or practice• Maintains open communication with facilities, IT departments, downstream systems, HIM and registration departments regarding notification of merged duplicates to ensure completion of physical record merging in the downstream systems• Reports issues and identified trends regarding duplicate patient records to EMPI Data Integrity Manager• As necessary, assists in the training of new personnel• Coordinate and facilitate chart correction at the facilities and practices to ensure the integrity of the EMR including but not limited to:• Chart correction• Document management• Note Mover• Note Type Change• Event Management• Reconciliation of assigned work queues• Assist with special projects as needed• Provides support for Service Desk tickets, email or phone requests to resolve duplicate records and overlays as required across the continuum of care.• Perform other related duties as requestedRequirements• AAS in Health Information Management, (AHIMA RHIT exam eligible), or at least 5 years’ experience in medical records, practice management, patient access or similar healthcare setting preferred.• Must be proficient in EMR.• Must be proficient in medical terminology.• Experienced in handling sensitive, confidential ePHI.• Working knowledge of HIPAA, policies, procedures, and business operations.• Proficient in Microsoft office; Excel, Power Point, Word.• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, and changing priorities in a dynamic production environment.• Strong follow-up skills.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Independent and self-motivated, energetic with strong desire to learn.Salary RangeUSD $70,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
