The Advancement Associate for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) reports to the Director of PPP and provides fundraising and administrative support related to donor research, proposal and budget development, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and CDC Foundation approvals, donor agreement execution, CRM data entry and donor stewardship. This position may manage a portfolio of his/her own projects funded by corporate, foundation, organizational and/or government donors.
The Advancement Associate works as a partner with the Director of PPP, fellow Advancement Officers as assigned, and functions synergistically with members of the Advancement staff in support of the mission of the CDC Foundation. They must work seamlessly with CDC staff, CDC Foundation staff and external partners. This position has an end date of June 30, 2026 and will be hybrid reporting to the Atlanta, GA headquarters office.
Salary Range: $61,796-$88,754.00
Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor’s degree
- One (1) - three (3) years of direct fundraising or equivalent sales or business development experience.
- Experience in public health/health care environment or funding for scientific research preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, providing support to senior staff as well as managing a portfolio of their own assignments.
- Professional presence with the ability to establish confidence and trust among CDC colleagues and private sector partners.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously and effectively.
- A demonstrated ability to complete assignments in a timely and effective manner and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Excellent computer and data management skills/proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel required; Salesforce experience highly preferred.
- Adherence to the Code of Ethical Principles of the National Society of Fundraising Executives (NSFRE) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Duties- As directed, create, edit, finalize and send fundraising correspondence, proposals and stewardship materials for donors and prospects.
- Oversee maintenance of PPP CRM data entry and integrity and assist Director of PPP with departmental reporting, prospect review reports, and income projection.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of customized stewardship plans and participate in stewardship activities as necessary.
- Collaborate with Director of PPP and CDC staff to help develop project proposals and route project concepts/ideas through CDC and the CDC Foundation.
- Represent the Foundation with a wide range of external constituencies, including foundations, corporations, other potential donors and CDC colleagues.
- Provide fundraising and administrative support to senior Advancement staff.
- Develop, maintain and master a working knowledge of CDC Foundation and CDC programs and activities.
- Participate in a variety of staff activities, projects and assignments.
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
