Drone Pilot (locals only)

CDR Maguire Inc., a national engineering and emergency management firm, is seeking a certified Drone Pilot to support aerial data collection and analysis for various projects, including disaster response, debris management, and environmental monitoring. The Drone Pilot will operate unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to capture high-resolution imagery, video, and other data while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and safety protocols. This role requires a skilled professional with experience in drone operations, data collection, and equipment maintenance, ideally in environmental or disaster management contexts.

Essential Functions:

  • Check drones before a flight to ensure safe and proper operations.
  • Analyze weather forecasts to ensure safe flights.
  • Document pre- and post-flights logs.
  • Monitor drones during flight.
  • Plan drone flight routes.
  • Navigate drones along designated paths.
  • Gather information or produce aerial photographs, as needed.
  • Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Familiar with data capture of video, photogrammetry and LiDAR
  • Perform work using DJI Matrice 300 RTK Drone
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA.
  • 4+ years of experience working as a drone pilot.
  • Experience with Search and Rescue Missions
  • Experience with ESRI products
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent electronic and mechanical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
